Travelers Ledger

Travelers Ledger Privacy Notice

Last updated: June 25, 2026. This explains what Travelers Ledger collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language for a free, personal app that anyone can register for. The operator runs the app from British Columbia, Canada.

What we collect

  • Your account email address, used to sign you in.
  • Your display name, if you choose to add one.
  • Your settings: your caps, your reading preference, your tax residency and approximate tax rate (which you enter), and your theme.
  • The records you create in the app: the picks you research, the holdings and trades you choose to track, and the notes and outcomes attached to them.
  • Basic usage needed to run the app, such as when a research run happened and what it cost in AI usage, so the operator can keep the app working and share costs fairly.

What we do NOT collect

  • We never receive or store your brokerage account login.
  • We never receive, hold, or move your money. Your money stays in your own brokerage account.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Why we collect it

Only to run the app for you: to sign you in, save your settings and records, show your research and estimates, and keep the app working. Nothing more.

Where it is stored and who can see it

  • Your data is stored in a managed database (Supabase) protected so that you can only see your own data. The operator, as the administrator, can access data to run and support the app.
  • Some features send the text you research to an AI provider (Anthropic) to produce research and writing. We do not send your brokerage login or your money, because the app never has them.
  • These providers process data on the operator's behalf to make the app work. They do not get your data for their own marketing.

Two-step sign in

If you sign in with email and password, the app requires an authenticator app code (two-step sign in) to protect your account. If you sign in with Google, Google's own protections apply.

Your choices and rights

You can ask the operator to show you the data we hold about you, to export it, or to delete it. We will honor reasonable requests, in line with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and BC PIPA). If you are in the United States, applicable US privacy expectations also apply. To make a request, contact the operator at hareloomstudios@gmail.com.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed to keep honest records (for example, a tax-year record of trades you tracked). When it is no longer needed, it is removed, except where a record must be kept.

Security

Access is protected by sign in and two-step verification, your data is isolated to your own account, and sensitive keys are kept on the server only. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable care.

Children

Travelers Ledger is for adults only. It is not for anyone under the age of majority in their province or state.

Changes

If we change this notice in a significant way, we will ask you to read and accept the new version before you keep using the app.
