Travelers Ledger User Agreement

Last updated: June 25, 2026. This agreement is between you (the person using the app, called "you") and the individual who operates Travelers Ledger (called "the operator", "we", or "us"). By using the app you agree to everything below. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Travelers Ledger is, and what it is not

Travelers Ledger is a private, personal tool for researching investments, keeping records, and estimating fees and taxes. It is an educational and record-keeping aid only.

It is not financial advice, tax advice, or legal advice. The operator is not your financial adviser, broker, dealer, or portfolio manager, and using the app does not make them one. Nothing in the app is a recommendation that is suitable for your personal circumstances. You are responsible for your own decisions.

2. Who can use it (open registration, access granted by the operator)

Anyone can create an account. Creating an account does not give you the research and trading tools. The operator decides, personally and at their sole discretion, who is given tool access. Until the operator grants you access, your account can sign in but the tools stay locked, and you can ask for access from inside the app. The operator can grant, limit, pause, or remove your access at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may not share your account or let anyone else use it.

You confirm you are an adult and legally allowed to invest in your own country and province or state. You confirm you are using the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

3. You place your own trades, and you are solely responsible

Travelers Ledger does not place trades for you. For every trade, the app may show you a suggestion and the exact steps to follow, but you decide whether to act, and you place the order yourself, in your own brokerage account, using your own money. You are solely responsible for every trade you make and for every result. The operator is not responsible for your trades, your gains, or your losses.

4. The operator never holds your money

The operator never receives, holds, moves, pools, or has access to your money or your brokerage account login. Your money stays in your own brokerage account, under your own control, at all times. Travelers Ledger is not a brokerage, not a dealer, not an adviser, and not a money-management service.

5. No fees

Travelers Ledger is free. The operator does not charge you anything to use it, takes no commission, no subscription, no percentage of your investments, and no payment of any kind. You pay your own brokerage's fees and your own taxes directly, the same as you would without this app.

6. Risk acknowledgement

Investing carries real risk. Markets go down as well as up. You can lose money, including some or all of what you invest. Projections, estimates, target prices, and conviction scores are educated guesses from research, not promises, and past performance does not predict future results. The app's fee and tax numbers are estimates to help you plan, not a tax filing. You accept these risks when you use the app.

7. No adviser, broker, or fiduciary relationship is created

Using Travelers Ledger does not create any advisory, brokerage, dealer, fiduciary, agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and the operator. The operator does not owe you the duties that a registered adviser or a fiduciary would owe a client. The operator is not registered to provide investment advice and does not provide personalized investment advice through this app.

8. Do your own research, no reliance

You should not rely on Travelers Ledger as the only basis for any investment decision. The app's research and estimates may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Do your own research, and consult a licensed professional before you act, especially for anything that materially affects your finances. Any decision you make is your own.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable to you for any loss or damage of any kind arising from your use of Travelers Ledger, including investment losses, lost profits, trading mistakes, missed opportunities, data errors, downtime, or any indirect or consequential loss. The app is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. You use it at your own risk. If, despite this, the operator is ever found liable, that liability is limited to the amount you paid to use the app, which is zero.

10. You agree to cover the operator (indemnity)

If your use of Travelers Ledger, or your breach of this agreement, leads to a claim, loss, or expense for the operator (including reasonable legal costs), you agree to cover the operator for it, to the extent the law allows.

11. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction, to the extent the law allows.

12. Not a securities offering, and not registered (notice for all users, including outside Canada)

Travelers Ledger is operated from British Columbia, Canada. It is a free educational and record-keeping tool. It is not a securities offering, not a solicitation to buy or sell any investment, and not investment advice. It is not registered with, and not reviewed by, any securities regulator in Canada, the United States, or elsewhere, and the operator is not registered as an adviser or a dealer. Anyone may create an account, but registering does not create an adviser relationship and does not entitle you to personalized advice. If you use the app from outside Canada, you do so on your own initiative and you are responsible for following the laws that apply to you. Nothing in the app is an offer or solicitation in any place where that would not be allowed.

13. Ending your access

The operator can suspend or end your access at any time, for any reason, without notice. You can stop using the app at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example risk acknowledgement, no reliance, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) continue to apply after your access ends.

14. Privacy

The operator keeps the data needed to run the app for you and to keep records. The app never receives your brokerage login or your money. For details on what is collected and how to ask for export or deletion, see the Privacy Notice.

15. Changes to this agreement

The operator may update this agreement. If a change is significant, the operator will ask you to read and accept the new version before you keep using the app. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept it.

16. The whole agreement

This agreement, the Disclaimer, and the Privacy Notice together are the whole agreement between you and the operator about Travelers Ledger. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
